Feature: _install

Description

Features

This feature provides:

• /opt/install/install.sh — Main installation script (partitioning, formatting, copying, bootloader)
• /opt/install/install.part — Default GPT partition layout template
• /opt/install/install.fstab — Default fstab configuration

The install script supports:

• Interactive installation (prompts for disk and password)
• Non-interactive installation via GL_INSTALL_TARGET environment variable
• Automatic rootfs source detection (/run/rootfsbase for ISO, /run/rootfs for PXE)
• UEFI (systemd-boot) and Legacy BIOS (syslinux) bootloaders

Notice for Garden Linux developers: If this feature needs to be backported, e.g. for 1877, please note that depending on the systemd repart version, it might not work out of the box as some features are not supported - mainly the sector size from 00-efi.conf - this is important for compatibility with syslinux - and the fstab generation settings. For older versions that don't support setting the sector size via repart.d config, consider using the SYSTEMD_REPART_MKFS_OPTIONS_VFAT env variable with a value of "-S 512". For the fstab append setting, it should just be removed and fstab updated afterwards.

Unit testing

This feature does not support unit tests.
